
Background
Peggy J. Shaw is a journalist, PR specialist, and literary author/editor. A former senior editor for Dalmatian Press, Intervisual Books, and Piggy Toes Press, she holds a B.A. in English from Vanderbilt University and a master’s in mass communications from the University of Florida, where she was named the Outstanding Graduate Scholar and awarded a Poynter Institute Fellowship.
Shaw began her career as a newspaper reporter, working for such dailies as The St. Petersburg Times and The Tennessean. She was a features editor for Southern Living Inc. and did public relations for the College of William & Mary and Vanderbilt University.
Her work has appeared in such diverse publications as Columbia Journalism Review, Southern Accents, Creative Ideas for Living, the national Sea Grant magazine, and Florida Trend—as well as Sesame Workshop and Disney books, lifestyle publications from Oxmoor House, and interactives from Intervisual Books and Piggy Toes Press.
P.J. Shaw has two children in college and lives in Decatur, GA., with her "wild, wild Westies."
